Scree Scramble was commissioned by the Robert Black Foundation in tandem with New Music on the Point and bassist James Sullivan. “Scree” refers to loose eroded rocks on the side of a mountain, and “scrambling” is hiking and climbing using your hands and feet. This piece reflects a perilous journey on the rocks up to the top of a mountain.
