REFUGE FOR THE RAIN (2017) - installation (single channel video, stereo audio, props and materials)

Video and Sculpture Installation - Exhibition on May 4th, 2017, Moody Center for the Arts Black Box Theater, Rice University, Houston, TX.

Program Notes:

Refuge for the Rain was featured in a an evening of installations and video performances from the Rice University Moody Center for the Arts. The work features a tent which bystanders can enter and sit, enjoying a looping video of detailed views of nature, as well as a soundtrack featuring rain sampled from the inside of variety of tents. The composition explores the familiar comfortable feeling of being inside a small sheltered space during a rain storm, but also creates a comfortable frame for a natural scene, close up. There is a simultaneous feeling of distance and proximity in the composition.
